General
What is Zuna?โผ
Zuna is a recurring commute-sharing app designed specifically for IT employees who travel to the same office every day. It helps colleagues share their daily commute, split fuel and toll costs fairly via UPI, and track group members in real time. It is not a cab service โ it is a community-based commute group for people who already know their route.
Is Zuna like Ola or Uber?โผ
Not at all. Ola and Uber connect you with a new person every time you book. Zuna does the opposite โ it forms a fixed commute group of verified colleagues who travel together on a recurring daily schedule. The Publisher is not a driver-for-hire. They are an IT professional already going to the same office, who has chosen to share the journey with familiar people from the same community. You never interact with a stranger on Zuna.
Is Zuna available in my city?โผ
Zuna is currently live in Lucknow, focused on three IT-dense corridors: Gomti Nagar, Indira Nagar, and Aliganj. We are expanding to new cities based on demand. Register your interest and you will be notified when Zuna launches in your area.
Publisher & Subscriber
What is a Publisher and what is a Subscriber?โผ
A Publisher is someone who owns a vehicle and publishes their daily office route on Zuna. They set the schedule, accept people who want to join, and the group travels together recurring every working day. A Subscriber is someone who discovers a published commute group that matches their route and timing, and subscribes to join it. Your role is per group โ you can be a Publisher in one group and a Subscriber in another simultaneously.
How do I publish my commute group?โผ
First register your vehicle under Profile โ Manage Vehicles. Then go to My Commutes, choose your direction (Morning or Evening), confirm your route and departure time, select your working days, and tap Publish. Once you accept a Subscriber, tap "Start Schedule" and set a meeting point on the map. From that day forward, Zuna automatically generates the daily commute for your group โ you don't need to do anything repeatedly.
How do I find and join a commute group as a Subscriber?โผ
Tap the search bar on the Home screen to open commute group discovery. Filter by All, Nearby, Morning, or Evening. Tap a group to see full details โ Publisher's profile, route, timing, and seat count. Select the days you want to join and tap Subscribe. If there is a conflict with an existing group, Zuna will show you exactly which days overlap before sending your request. Once the Publisher accepts, the group appears in your schedule and runs every day automatically.
Cost & Payments
How is the fuel cost calculated?โผ
Zuna automatically calculates the fuel cost per commute based on your route distance, the city you are in, your vehicle type, and current fuel rates. This amount is then split fairly among all group members. You do not need to enter any amount manually โ the app does the calculation for you. Payments are made directly via UPI between members. Zuna tracks what each person owes and what the Publisher should receive, per day, with full history.
What does it cost to use Zuna?โผ
The Zuna app is free to download. Fuel costs are split directly between group members via UPI โ peer to peer. Zuna does not take any percentage of these transfers. The app includes a free trial period. After the trial, a small subscription keeps your commute groups active. You can view current plan details under Profile โ Plans.
How do I settle commute expenses?โผ
Zuna tracks costs under "I Owe" and "I'll Receive" for every member. If you owe money, tap "Pay via UPI" to open your payment app, complete the transfer, then tap "Mark as Paid" in Zuna. If you are the Publisher receiving money, verify the payment in your bank app and tap "Confirm Received." Partial payments are supported. Full transaction history is available per person.
Schedule & Daily Experience
What if my schedule changes or I can't make it one day?โผ
Publishers can skip any day โ simply do not start the commute that day and all Subscribers are notified automatically. You can also pause your entire schedule for a period, change which days you run, or update your departure time. Subscribers can also pause their own subscription or request a time change. Your commute group adapts to your life, not the other way around.
How does the day-of coordination work?โผ
Every commute morning, Zuna auto-generates a "Today's Commute" card on your home screen. This opens a screen with a live map showing all member locations (updated every 2 minutes), a departure countdown timer, a member status list, and an in-app group chat. Before the commute starts, each member must tap one of three statuses: Check In (on time), Running Late (coming but delayed), or Not Going Today (skipping โ so the group does not wait). After the commute completes, there is a 2-hour window to raise any concern. After that, the commute is marked Settled.
Safety
How does Zuna ensure safety?โผ
Zuna is a corporate-focused network, not a public commute app. Safety is built into the product at every layer: real phone number verification for every account, real names and profile photos required, live map tracking of all members during the commute, a recurring group so you build familiarity with the same people daily, full profile visibility before accepting anyone into your group, and an in-app reporting system reviewed by the Zuna team within 24 hours.
What is Sister Mode?โผ
Sister Mode is an optional safety feature for women. When enabled, it filters commute group search results to show only groups published by verified female Publishers. To activate it, go to your Profile, tap the verification card, and upload a clear selfie for identity verification. Once the Zuna team verifies you, you can toggle Sister Mode on or off from your Profile page at any time. It is never mandatory.
How do I report a user for bad behavior?โผ
Open the Today's Commute page, tap the three-dot menu (โฎ) next to the person's name, and select "Report User." Choose a reason โ such as no-show, inappropriate behavior, or unsafe driving โ add your notes, and tap Submit. The Zuna team reviews all reports within 24 hours. You can also raise a concern within the 2-hour post-commute window after each trip.
Support
How do I contact Zuna support?โผ
Email the team directly at zuna.official.team@gmail.com. The team typically responds within one business day. For urgent issues during an active commute, use the in-app Raise Issue feature for the fastest response.
